Technology Innovation Management (TIM) is a unique master’s program to train aspiring entrepreneurs on creating wealth at the early stages of company or opportunity life cycles. The program focuses on the launch and growth of technology companies and growth seeking initiatives of existing companies. The program provides benefits to founders of new companies, people seeking more senior leadership roles at existing companies, and talented professionals building credentials and expertise for their next career move. The program offers a number of hands-on opportunities.

The TIM program offers five different degrees in Technology Innovation Management, all offered jointly by the Sprott School of Business and the Faculty of Engineering and Design.

  • The Master of Science (MSc) degree is thesis-based. Students undertake original research under the supervision of an experienced faculty member.
  • The Master of Engineering (MEng) degree is project-based. Students employ applied research to solve a client problem.
  • The Master of Applied Business Analytics (MABA) is a pathway in the TIM program that targets individuals who want to specialize in the application of advanced business analytics to solve technology innovation management and technology entrepreneurship problems.
  • The Master of Entrepreneurship (MEnt) degree is also project-based. Students employ applied research to improve the health of the business ecosystems that deliver specialized services to founders of new companies or new lines of business at existing companies. A collaborative Specialization in Accessibility is available.
  • The Master of Digital Transformation & Entrepreneurship (MDTE) will develop leadership skills to lead digital transformation in organizations; learn new technologies such as blockchain, AI and IoT; and focus on inclusive digital solutions and cross-border business opportunities.

“The MEnt is a unique program that perfectly blends the contemporary technology, particularly AI-related issues, with start-up business phenomena for any new or existing entrepreneur. I learned so many new things that can shape and scale up a new business with the help of technology. It is a diverse program in terms of global outlook, culture and inclusiveness of participants.”
