Admissions Decisions

Have you submitted your application and are now waiting on an admission decision? After you have submitted your application, the application fee and the required documents, the academic unit can begin to review your application. The timeframe for processing applications can be different for each program. Decisions may be made on a rolling basis and may be made  after the application deadline. You can review the status of your application in Carleton Central  or contact the Graduate Administrator in the appropriate academic unit.

For a listing of various application status updates and their definitions, please visit our application status website.

Applications Are Still Being Accepted

Although most of the initial application deadlines have passed, applications are still being accepted for some of our graduate programs for Fall 2018. A number of programs have a second deadline for consideration of admission and funding if space and funds remain. For complete information on how to submit an application to a graduate program, please visit our apply online website.

Program Spotlight: Sustainable Energy

The Master’s programs in Sustainable Energy prepare students for employment related to sustainable energy in government, business, or the civil society sector, and/or to serve as a foundation for further graduate education at the doctoral level. The program involves learning across two distinct disciplines – engineering and public policy. Students specialize in one side or the other of the program, graduating with either an engineering degree (MASc or MEng Sustainable Energy) or a public policy degree (MA Sustainable Energy Policy).

Sharing Grad Research with Northern Schoolchildren

Andrea Reid is a National Geographic Young Explorer and an NSERC Aboriginal Ambassador. Her PhD research has led her back to her to roots, in northern British Colombia, to teach children in a small community about radio telemetry technology:

“My PhD work in Dr. Steven Cooke’s Fish Ecology and Conservation Physiology Laboratory (FECPL) at Carleton University explores Pacific salmon fisheries and what we can do to make them more sustainable… My goal is to identify the fishing practices that result in the highest overall survival in these fish.”
