You Can Still Apply to Grad School!

Although some application deadlines have passed, many of our graduate programs are still accepting applications. Most programs have two application deadlines for each term. The first deadline is for guaranteed consideration of admission and funding, if applicable. The second deadline is for consideration of admission and funding if space and funds remain.

For complete information on how to submit an application to a graduate program at Carleton, please visit our apply online website.

Why Pursue an MA in Film Studies at Carleton University?

The Master of Arts in Film Studies program emphasizes conceptual issues current in the field, such as questions of critical and historical method relevant to the research and study of various national cinemas in relation to their global and transnational contexts.

The program takes full advantage of its location in Ottawa and its national institutions which offer opportunities for internships and access to research materials unparalleled in Canada.

Check out what one current student has to say about the program here.

Graduate Research: Paralympic Ice Hockey

Carleton University’s grad research could help Canada’s Olympic sledge hockey team improve their game! Carleton’s biomedical engineering candidate, Alicia Gal, is partnering with Hockey Canada on a longitudinal study of how the sport’s seated style of skating actually works.

Alicia’s connection to this research is personal. After a high school friend was paralyzed, she realized no research had been done on the sport: “We’re trying to close the gap in biomechanical research, and narrow the gap between someone just starting out and a national team-level player”.
