After you have submitted your application, the application fee, and the required documents, the academic unit can begin to review your application. The time frame for processing applications can be different for each program. Decisions may be made on a rolling basis and may be made after the application deadline. You can review the status of your application in Carleton Central or contact the Graduate Administrator in the appropriate academic unit.

Preliminary review required This refers to an application at the beginning of the assessment process. Your application may already be under review by the academic unit. You may wish to contact the academic unit to which you have applied for the specific status of your application.
Review in progress by department Your application is under review by the academic unit to which you have applied.
Note: In some cases, this may mean your application is being considered for an alternate term. For more information, contact the academic unit to which you have applied.
Recommended for assessment Your application has been submitted to the admission committee of the academic unit to which you have applied.
Review in progress by Graduate Studies Your application is being reviewed by the Graduate Studies. As soon as a decision is made you will be notified by email.
Decision made by Graduate Studies: Application Approved Your application was approved by the Graduate Studies and an Offer of Admission has been made to you. You can accept or decline your Offer of Admission in Carleton Central.
Application Revised Changes have been made to your Offer of Admission which may include the removal of conditions. You can view your revised offer in Carleton Central.
Decision made: Declined Admission Your application has been reviewed and your application has been declined. Carleton’s graduate programs are highly competitive. For more information, contact the academic unit to which you have applied.

As soon as a decision is made on your application, you will receive an email notification. The email will come from noreply@connect.carleton.ca or noreply@carleton.ca. You should ensure that your email is set to accept correspondence from noreply@connect.carleton.ca and noreply@carleton.ca and check your junk or spam folder.
