More Information

Human society cannot exist without language. Language shapes our societies and identities, how we communicate with one another, and the policies that empower or disempower people. We see it on our streets, in our books, and on our devices. Both the PhD and MA programs in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies, at Carleton University’s School of Linguistics and Languages Studies, emphasize the central role that language plays in educational, workplace, and other social contexts. Our graduate programs can be a gateway to a great career in policy analysis and planning, teaching and research at universities and colleges, writing coaching, language instruction and assessment, or administration, among many other areas. Join us to learn more.

The information session will cover:

1. The MA and PhD programs in ALDS
2. Areas of research
3. Funding opportunities
4. Career opportunities
5. How to apply

There will be Q&A with the graduate program coordinator, faculty, and current graduate students.
